African States Lead the Way in Modernising Polygamy Law
In a further step forward for Africa Kenya has joined the growing number of countries to decriminalise bigamy. As they continue to throw off the vestiges of their colonial past they have demonstrated that long overdue reforms to the bigamy laws make sense. Bigamy laws that were brought in to Europe as a hysterical response to the move of Islaam in the late 16th century and were passed down to the European empires are now finally being consigned to the rubbish bin where they stay.
